“If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there to hear it, does it make a noise?” As I write my inaugural blog, I’m faced with a similar dilemma: “if a blogger writes an entry and no one responds, is it really a blog?”
Wikipedia, (direct descendant of Daniel Webster’s now defunct dictionary empire), states that “most blogs are interactive, allowing visitors to leave comments, and it is this interactivity that distinguishes them from other static websites.”
And so I invite you, my interactive readers, to help me make this a real live, honest-to-goodness blog!
By way of introduction, I’m a speaker by profession, having spent the last 14 years building a training and development practice. www.juliegaver.com. In December, 2009, I became a first time author when I published “Must Love Shoes: A Collection of Stories About Life in a Woman’s Shoes”, available on this website. Now, two years later, I am a blogger. This alone should tell you the most important thing about me you need to know: I believe in the power of conversation.
That means you.
A tree just fell in the woods.
