Happy 4th of July! This is my son’s favorite holiday and I understand why. No presents to wrap. No commercialism to distract you from the real reason for this season. This holiday is the perfect time to refect on pride, patriotism, and…..ok….. food. Every holiday is about food, isn’t it? That’s the “American Way.”
So today, in order to reduce my time spent blogging so I can spend more time on the other, I leave you with thoughts from some of our well known patriots. May you never take your freedom for granted.
“No enterprise can exist for itself alone. It ministers to some great need, it performs some great service, not for itself, but for others; or failing therein it ceases to be profitable and ceases to exist.” US President Calvin Coolidge
“Use power to help people. For we are given power, not to advance our own purposes nor to make a great show in the world, not a name. There is but one just use of power and it is to serve people.” US President George Bush
“Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.” Martin Luther King, Jr.
“One man with courage is a majority.” US President Thomas Jefferson
