Today, I called in sick. Since I wasn’t sick, I called in “well.” And since I work for myself, I didn’t even call in. I just decided that today I would practice what I preach and put some fuel back in the tank! Things have been hectic here with training sessions, conferences, and putting the finishing touches on “Must Love Shoes-2” due out December 2nd.
My morning started at Panera with my friend, Jackie. Jackie just started an awesome new business planning trips to Italy for primarily female audiences. www.circaitalia.com. If you are a man, you are certainly welcome to join these trips as long as you don’t try “to be the boss of us!” 🙂
After breakfast, we scurried out to visit my favorite antiques shop, Chartreuse & Company. www.chartreuseandco.com. The place was packed with (mostly) women who also enjoy the beauty of vintage furniture and unique, one-of-a-kind creations.
After dropping off some fresh hydrageas to my friend, Fran of & Coco, a brief visit with my friend, Molly, designer and creator of some of my favorite garden signs, I perused all the beautifully arranged treasures.
Jackie bought a beautiful Scottish plaid wool blanket and a book on Florence, Italy, and I found a gorgeous vintage light for only $49.00! Who could pass THAT up????
For the record, I could have done some major purchasing damage today but…
a) I didn’t bring the truck! (smart move)
b) my husband was working from home today. Knowing I have to walk by Mr. “We’re on a Budget” Gaver sure does cramp a girl’s spending style.
So, let this beautiful fall weekend begin! I hope you get a chance to get out and enjoy Autumn’s glory! I plan to try a new soup recipe (Butternut Squash) and a few loaves of Pumpkin Bread! Heaven!
