“He’s looking at me.”
“He’s on my side.”
“Make him stop.”
“Are we there yet?”
But they’re adults now. Between the two of them, they’ve traveled internationally to places I’ve only dreamed of going. At 28 and 26, they’ve grown into young men with a sense of adventure and wanderlust. Like so many of their generation, they consider themselves citizens of the world.
A few hours ago, Dan and I waved goodbye as they approached the security gate in preparation for their first time traveling together. They are heading to India for one of the many trips that still exist on their bucket lists.
This time, there were no arguments. Neither son tattled on the other. There was no pushing. No race to be first in line.
Just two friends, who happen to be brothers, heading out to experience all the world has to offer.
And a mom and dad who are still…..
Letting go lightly.
