I heard a song on the radio today by the country music star, Jason Aldean, called “Dirt Road Anthem.” This song is nostalgic because it reminds me of my best friends from school. I remember the day my friend Jenna said that this song would forever remind her of our group of friends and our senior year of college.
I don’t get to see our group all that often because most of us are far away from one another, but I’m sure that they get those same feelings and that rush of memories when they hear that song.
Although I can’t see them like I would like to, it’s nice to know that I have the best group of girlfriends I could ever ask for. Some are teachers, doctors, nurses, saleswomen, and politicians- and they are all strong women. They are smart, kind, adventurous, loyal, sassy, witty, sensitive, beautiful, funny, and daring. I hope they know how amazing they are and what a huge impact they have had and continue to have on my life.
I work very hard to keep in touch with my girls, and they put in the same effort so that we are able to keep in touch and see each other. We are very involved in each other’s lives and I am so thankful for them.
So, if you are reading this, I ask that you take the time over the next couple of weeks to reach out to those amazing women in your life who inspire and love you, and continue to push you to always dream big. Whether you talk frequently, or you have let life get in the way of connecting- make it a priority to reach out and remind these women why you love them. We need each other, ladies! True friendship is such a rare and beautiful experience, and it would be a shame to neglect nurturing those bonds.
With love and admiration,
